Cambridge Revitalization Economic and Tourism Expansion (CREATE)

Specific Need

Currently CREATE is need of funding for a hotel market study to determine if Cambridge Springs can support a new small hotel.   After the devestating loss of the historic Riverside Hotel in May of 2017, our town is in need of greater overnight lodging options.   Thankfully, some AirBnb's have opened, but so many others have to travel out of town to secure lodging.     Also, CREATE plans to develop our carnival grounds with new playground equipment,  a basketball / pickleball court, walking track, updated restrooms, and lighting for the softball fields.    Any donation can be earmarked for either project, plus we are also in need of basic operating capital to fund our all volunteer non-profit activities.

With the goal of envisioning a brighter Cambridge Springs for current and future generations, the vision of CREATE is to be both a fundraising and philanthropic entity that supports and encourages revitalization initiatives in the Cambridge Springs area.  The primary areas of focus for CREATE will be real estate and commercial development, community beautification and recreation, historical preservation, and advancement of the arts. As much as is possible, CREATE will seek to highlight and utilize the French Creek Waterway in its revitalization efforts. CREATE will pursue these objectives in connection with local government and/or local business as well as local public service institutions including, but not limited to, churches, schools, libraries, and educational and historical societies.  It will be a goal of CREATE to help make the Cambridge Springs area a place that residents and businesses can be proud to be a part of and that visitors will want to return to.
